Remote personal training
Offer online personal training with real follow-up
Online coaching is only as good as its follow-up: a program sent as a PDF tells you neither whether the client trains nor how. With I Train With You, your clients follow their sessions and meals in an app, log what they do, and you see it all from your workspace to adjust every week. Free for 1 client, no commitment.
- Programs, nutrition and messaging in one place
- Completed sessions land in your workspace
- A client app with no app store, in English and French
Free for 1 client · no credit card · no commitment

A PDF program is not coaching
Many online offers boil down to a downloadable program. The client follows it for a few weeks, unsure whether they are doing it right, then drops off. What justifies the price of coaching is the loop: the client trains, reports back, you adjust. Remotely, that loop has to run through a tool, otherwise it relies on scattered messages and everyone's memory.
Good online coaching software does three things: it puts the day's program in front of the client at the right time, it collects what was done (sessions, sets, ratings), and it flags those who have stopped training. The rest, your expertise and the relationship, cannot be delegated.
The tools for remote follow-up
Programs and progression
Build sessions from more than 800 exercises or your own, then apply a program's typical week over several weeks with automatic load progression.
Guided sessions for the client
The client opens the session of the day, follows each exercise, ticks off each completed set and uses the rest timer. At the end, they rate how it went.
What was really done
Completed sessions, ticked sets and ratings reach the client's profile. You see their consistency and satisfaction without having to ask.
Nutrition
Meals built from more than 3,000 foods of the French CIQUAL table (Anses), with calories and macronutrients, visible in the client app. For the basics, read our practical guide to macros.
Real-time messaging
One conversation per client, with photo and PDF attachments, read receipts and a notification for unread messages. Ideal for a movement to correct or a weekly check-in.
Follow-ups and appointments
You are alerted when a client stops training or a program is ending. Remote appointments (check-in, call) are scheduled in the calendar with automatic reminders.
Launch your online offer in five steps
Pick a precise target
"Everyone, everywhere" does not sell. A clear target (post-pregnancy return, trail race preparation, strength work for cyclists) makes your offer easy to understand and your content easier to produce.
Define the format
Fully online or hybrid (a few in-person sessions then remote follow-up), minimum duration, check-in frequency, response time to messages: write it down.
Price it from your time
Estimate the real time per client per month (programming, messages, check-ins), then work out a price that covers your costs. Our guide on pricing your coaching services gives the method.
Get the start right
A goals and health history questionnaire, baseline tests, a first call: the first weeks decide what follows. See our guide to client onboarding.
Set a follow-up rhythm
A short weekly check-in (loads, how it felt, sleep, photos if the client wishes) and a program adjustment every three to four weeks keep most clients engaged.
Three online offer formats
The right format depends on how much time you want to spend and how independent your clients are.
| Format | What the client gets | Your time per client | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tracked program | An evolving program in the app, monthly check-in | Low | Suits clients who are already independent |
| Monthly coaching | Adjusted program, weekly check-in, messaging | Medium | Set a response time for messages |
| Hybrid | In-person sessions, then remote follow-up | High | Schedule the in-person sessions at sign-up |
The legal framework for online coaching in France
Coaching remotely for pay is still sports coaching: in France, the qualification and the sports educator professional card apply just as they do in person. Our independent personal trainer page gathers these obligations.
When you sell an online offer to a consumer, the contract is concluded at a distance: the client usually has a 14-day withdrawal period. If they expressly ask to start before the end of that period, they pay for the part already delivered if they withdraw (official rules, in French). Build that request into your sign-up flow, in writing.
Finally, your clients share health data with you (injuries, weight, diet): do not exchange it over personal messaging and keep it in a tool designed for it. In I Train With You, data is hosted in France.
How much does online coaching software cost?

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a professional card to coach online in France?
Yes. The qualification and declaration requirements cover paid sports coaching whatever the medium. Paid online coaching therefore needs the same professional card as in-person coaching.
Can my clients be abroad?
Yes. The client app runs in the browser, on iPhone and Android, wherever there is a connection, and it is available in English and French. The food database comes from the French CIQUAL table: keep that in mind for clients who eat very differently.
How do I follow a client I never see?
With data rather than impressions: completed sessions, ticked sets, ratings, consistency. I Train With You groups them in the client's profile and alerts you when they go inactive. Add a short weekly check-in in the messaging and a monthly call.
Can I make video calls in I Train With You?
Not directly: you schedule a "remote" appointment in the calendar, with reminders, and use the video call tool of your choice. To correct a movement, the client can also send you a photo or a PDF in the messaging.
How should I price online personal training?
There is no standard price. Start from the real time you spend per client each month and your target hourly rate, then adjust by format (tracked program, monthly coaching, hybrid). Online coaching usually costs the client less than in-person coaching, but lets you follow more people.
Does the withdrawal right apply to my offer?
For a distance sale to a consumer, usually yes: 14 days from the conclusion of the contract. If the client asks to start right away, get that request in writing; if they then withdraw, they pay for the part of the service already delivered.
